Mia Jativa, known as “Jahtiva” takes her semi-eponymous name from a
clever play on words that translates to "God's Flower." With a soulful yet
powerful vocal delivery, her music is deeply influenced by the classic roots
reggae of the mid to late 70’s. Jahtiva has continued to captivate a diverse
and growing global audience with an expanding catalog of original tracks
as well as covers, honoring the genre's rich history while pushing it forward
into the future.
Jahtiva released her debut EP “Medicine Woman” in 2024, featuring an all-
star cast of world-renowned reggae musicians including Grammy winners
Santa Davis on drums and mixing engineer Fabian Cooke. In early 2025,
Jahtiva released her first full length music video filmed in Hawaii for the
EP’s title track. Most recently, Jahtiva released her second EP titled
“Crucial Lover.” The EP features another excellent line-up of musicians
from established bands Slightly Stoopid, the Aggrolites, E.N. Young and
Dubbest with Cooke again mixing the project.
Following the release of her first two EP’s and a string of well-received live
performances, Jahtiva’s momentum is at an all-time high. The twenty-two
year old continues marching towards her goal of creating powerful,
inspiring music and continuing to connect with her growing fan base. As
Jahtiva prepares for the release of additional singles and collaborations this
year, she is setting her sights on expanding reach beyond San Diego, with
plans for shows in nearby regions and partnerships with international
reggae artists, DJ’s and sound systems.
