    Early Beginnings (1997-2000):

    DJ Orchid delved into the art of Djing armed with a rare collection of vinyl records and a pair of turntables.  She spun underground hip-hop and R & B
    vinyl records at clubs, parties, hotels, and local events in the San Diego area. She was promoted and managed by Sin City, and paid her dues carrying crates. 

    Hiatus and Rediscovery (2000-2023):

    Despite DJ Orchid’s early success, life took unexpected turns, leading to a hiatus from the DJ scene for decades.

    A New Beginning (2023-Present):

    In 2023, fueled by a renewed sense of purpose, DJ Orchid returned embracing the latest technology learning the ins and outs of controllers and producing.

     DJ Ian Utero is the alter ego of Eric Howarth, founder of the Vinyl Junkies Record Shack in San Diego, CA and concert production company Daydream Nation Presents. Spinning everything from Funk and Soul, Psych and Garage, Hip Hop to Afrobeat and more, DJ Ian Utero has rocked venues and festivals throughout Southern California for years.
