Dread Mar I

Castro began his solo career under the name Dread Mar-I in 2005 after several years as a vocalist for Reggae Messengers. In April of that year he released his first album, Jah Guía . The song "Inspiration", which was part of it, was the musical curtain of ESPN Gravity Zero . She participated as a stable showgirl at Los Cafres , accompanying the band at the Obras Sanitarias Stadium and at Luna Park , where they recorded their Luna Park DVD . He also replaced Guillermo Bonetto , singer of the band, in two concerts along the Argentine coast.

In 2006 he contributed his voice with Guillermo Bonetto in the song "So far from me" of the group Maria Mulata . He also participated in the first edition of the classic Bob Marley Day festival. It was performed on the same night as The Peter Tosh Band and The Wailers before a crowded Luna Park stadium with 8,000 spectators. In the same year he performed at the Pepsi Music festival in Argentina . In December he dismissed the year with the release of Brothers , an album that expresses in his letters and in his harmony a message of peace, union, and respect.

Dread Mar-I & The Warriors of the King.
The reception of Brothers by the public, in 2007, makes Dread Mar-I, together with his band Los Guerreros del Rey, take their music to new places. During that year he demonstrated the national and international projection of his music. This consecration was reflected in three concerts at Niceto Club and at each location of Buenos Aires , which was presented when filled. He returned to participate in the Pepsi Music, and closed the year with a performance in Niceto, where more than 300 people who stayed outside of the place danced to the rhythm of their songs.

During 2008, Dread Mar-I is the Argentine reggae band that has performed the most concerts, with more than 60 shows in less than 8 months, including several cities in the interior (with performances on the Argentine Atlantic coast ), Chile and Uruguay . That same year he presented his album Amor-Es.

Dread Mar-I, the undisputed referent of the new sound of Reggae Roots and Lover, then presents Viví en do , his fourth album. The same contains 20 tracks and was recorded and mastered in Studios Panda by the engineer Emil Cura between December 2009 and January 2010. On April 27, 2011, the band arrives for the first time at the Estadio Luna Park, also in 2011 Participated in the song "Amor amor" of the band El Majebri and also sang "Sonia" in the album Reggaemanía , of DJ Nelson.

It is also worth noting that this year DREAD MAR I & El Guerreros del Rey (Su Banda) visited Mexico for the second time, offering a show in Guadalajara for more than 5000 people and made their first arrival in Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru and Brazil.

Although the press claims that Mariano Castro is a "reggae lover" (romantic reggae composer), he defines himself as a reggae singer, citing as an example Bob Marley, who despite having love songs, also had to fight, Freedom, etc, in short, his best known songs were those of love and even so, he is a reggae singer. In February 2011 and April 2012, he released his new album Transparente .

On September 17, 2014, just ten days after the death of Gustavo Cerati , Castro made statements about the causes of the death of the musician, who generated controversy in the media.

"Sadly, Gustavo Cerati kills his ego, man. [...] He gives a total rebuke that such a thing happens, because the guy was 50 years old. Crazy, you have to stop and follow! Why did you go crazy? For the ego, because "I can do it and because I am number one and I do it because they told me since I was a kid" and shit, man."

Tune in, freak out, and get naked. That's Marujah's motto. This post Latin alternative powerhouse is not exactly what you'd expect of a band hailing from San Diego. Almost equal parts gipsy punk, dub and Latin, Marujah continues to mesmerize audiences by kicking out pulse-pounding live sets while maintaining song structure built for popular radio.

Building a reputation as one of the ultimate party bands the raw energy produced by the members of Marujah is the band's greatest asset as witnessed in their over-the-top, live engagements.
