The Cured is a tribute to the Iconic band The Cure. The Cured focuses on the 1980s heyday of the legendary British band, and gives it's audience 90-120 minutes of hits made famous by The Cure.
The Smiths are considered by some critics to be the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent scene of the 1980’s. Johnny Marr’s intricate melodic sense provided a complex sonic background for Morrissey's theatrical crooning and poetic lyrics. The group remained underground cult artists in the States, but their fan base steadily grew larger over the years, and continues growing to this day as many of today’s artists point to the Smiths as a source of inspiration.
Still Ill is San Diego’s tribute to the music of Morrissey and the Smiths. They are an energetic group of established local musicians who also happen to be huge fans. It is their passion for the music that brought them together and it is evident in their stage act. With a constantly growing repertoire of material, ability to respond to crowd requests, and knack for pulling out obscure B-sides and rare gems, this is a tribute band that does not fail to represent their idols to the fullest. Due to the Smiths and Morrissey’s extremely loyal fan base, expectations are set high, and Still Ill delivers accordingly with a highly practiced and polished sound.
Since 2006, the band has played for over thousands of people and has been playing shows all over San Diego, Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas at a variety of venues including the House of Blues, 4th and B, and the Belly Up Tavern. Throughout their career Still ill has played with musical celebrities such as the original bass player of the Smiths, Andy Rourke and Dave Keuning of the Killers in Las Vegas.
